Empowering a Nation with Human Rights

Through education, Mohammad Hasan is impacting children’s and women’s rights in Bangladesh.

Professor Mohammad Hasan holds seminars and uses the United for Human Rights materials to raise awareness in his community everywhere he goes.

Professor Mohammad Hasan’s journey in human rights education began with a personal drive to see change in his native Bangladesh. Witnessing widespread inequality and injustice, especially against vulnerable populations like women and children, Hasan turned to the United for Human Rights materials as a foundation for educating and empowering others.

Based in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka, Hasan has been instrumental in organizing workshops and seminars across the region, focusing on delivering these crucial Human Rights teachings. His approach is hands-on, using the UHR materials to discuss rights and responsibilities that many are unaware they possess.

One of Hasan’s most impactful stories comes from a workshop where a young girl learned about her rights and was inspired to advocate for her education, leading to a community movement to enroll more girls in schools.

However, challenges abound. Resistance from traditional community leaders and limited resources make widespread implementation difficult. Despite these hurdles, Hasan finds new ways to reach more people and effect change.

Through Hasan’s dedication, the landscape of human rights in Bangladesh is slowly but surely transforming. His story is a beacon of hope and a testament to the power of education in the global fight for human rights.

“Thank you for providing the Human Rights materials—they were truly amazing! We have distributed them across various home schools and it was incredible to see how even young children grasped the concept of their rights, something many educated adults are often unaware of. TEACHER, BOGOTÁ, COLOMBIA

“I am deeply grateful for the material received on Human Rights, which has been fundamental for the educational work carried out this year with three ninth-grade courses, totaling approximately 120 students.
