Human Rights Mobile Exhibits Everywhere

The United for Human Rights Mobile Exhibit is bringing Human Rights education to people everywhere.

The Human Rights Mobile Exhibit at the King Arts Complex in Columbus, Ohio.

A major addition to UHR’s array of booklets, videos and educational tools, these bright orange mobile exhibits appear in parks, stadiums, schoolyards and college campuses wherever people gather.

With human rights abuses pervasive across the globe, from everyday discrimination to outright genocide, the need for education has never been more urgent.

Visitors to a mobile exhibit can pick up What Are Human Rights? booklets, watch public service announcement videos and The Story of Human Rights film, sign a Human Rights petition or begin a free online course.

Exhibits are appearing across Africa, Australia, Canada, Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States—at such venues as Place Saint-Michel in Paris, Taste of Asia in Toronto, Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria and the King Arts Complex in Columbus, Ohio.

“These exhibits pop up in neighborhoods and bring a new understanding of fundamental rights. There is nothing more uplifting than that, and we are happy to be able to bring it,” says one organizer.

One visitor in Cincinnati summed up the impact: “I knew there were human rights, but I didn’t know specifically what they were. This is something everyone should know about. It’s similar to our own Constitution and Bill of Rights, which aren’t studied or understood enough. This is really important. Thank you for what you are doing—this is a campaign I can support.”

WE REALLY WANT TO hear FROM YOU

Youth for Human Rights and United for Human Rights educational materials are used by those best positioned to educate populations on their basic human rights. Here is what they wanted to share:

UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR, NEW YORK, USA

“I have used these materials as part of my course. They have been a huge help in building a deep and broad knowledge of human rights for the students and has served as a great backdrop when we investigate the societal challenges we address.”

TEACHER, SOUTH AFRICA

“The materials have been incredibly helpful in conveying the importance of human rights to my students. I have been using the resources to create engaging lesson plans, discussions and activities that have sparked meaningful conversations about human rights. I am grateful to be part of the United for Human Rights community and look forward to continuing to use these materials to inspire the next generation of human rights advocates.”

SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER, ILLINOIS, USA

“It’s very eye-opening to my students. They do not realize how human rights are not equally protected.”

TEACHER AND NGO BOARD MEMBER, NIGERIA

“We used the educator kit in both our school and home clubs. The content is well paced, clear and easy for the children to follow. The children were able to apply the concepts to the Nigerian context, making the lessons both relevant and impactful. It was rewarding to see them grasp these ideas in a way that connected to their daily lives. I truly appreciate the thought and quality that went into creating them. Thank you again for providing such valuable and adaptable resources.”

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT, NORWAY

“I have always been interested in human rights. I’m the kind of person who feels compelled to spread awareness whenever an injustice occurs. Opportunities to engage with human rights are few, and many organizations focus more on talk than action. This is why I wanted to look into Youth for Human Rights, to be able to contribute, gain experiences and grow closer to achieving my dream of creating real change.”

EDUCATION
MAKING HUMAN RIGHTS REAL

Education is the foundation for advancing human rights globally. To realize that potential, educators need effective materials that seamlessly integrate human rights into their curriculum.

The Bringing Human Rights to Life Education Package is an interactive aid that helps educators teach students in classrooms, lecture halls, group instruction, community learning or other educational settings.

All elements are available for free as a printed curriculum or an online virtual classroom, with a downloadable app for iPads and iPhones.
